Our visit to Churchill’s War Rooms last week was incredibly enlightening. The visit was beneficial to helping me see what it would have been like to live in the time of World War II, and allowed me to see how much of technological advancements accelerated during the time.
The in-person experience of walking through the war rooms made me think on the tension that must have been palpable in underground. With over 500 people running around while bombs were dropping 12 feet over their heads, I can imagine tensions were high. I cannot imagine having to make the decisions the people in the war rooms had to make, in regard to protecting their country and their personal lives. I like to believe I would join the war effort, but I may have been too scared. I definitely believe that if I was a parent at the time, I would have sent my children countryside to escape the Blitz.

I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the widespread impact of technology in the war through our tour. So many people went into the plans and data that helped save the war and I highly recommend seeing it in person to anyone who is considering a visit to Churchill’s War Rooms!
Thank you so much for reading this week!
